Laser CNC Operator (2nd Shift)

Job Description

Work directly with the engineering team to develop new operation processes and operate various machines to produce quality parts as instructed. Ensure all operations adhere to company procedures and safety standards, contributing to a clean and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

+ Operate Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM), waterjet, air flow, and laser machines to produce quality parts as instructed by Operation Process Sheets.

+ Work with tools such as drill press, belt sander, orbital sander, swivel deburr, bench grinder, and other hand tools according to instructions.

+ Utilize inspection equipment to ensure product quality.

+ Complete documentation accurately and correctly scan on/off shop orders.

+ Utilize and understand operation process sheets and inspect parts per character control sheets.

+ Notify Supervisor immediately in case of damage, defect, or inability to proceed efficiently.

+ Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments as needed.

+ Use approved software and follow company processes and procedures.

+ Perform all tasks in a safe and reasonable manner according to the company's Employee Handbook.

+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment and contribute to the company's 6S program and Lean concepts.

+ Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

Essential Skills

+

Experience with EDM, fusion, and laser machines, with fiber optic laser experience being a plus.

+ Fusion hole drilling experience.

+ Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

+ Strong focus and attention to detail.

+ Proficiency in mid-level math skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

+ Proficiency in using inspection equipment like calipers, micrometers, gage pins, and height gages.

+ Ability to read blueprints.

+ Ability to read and follow company processes, policies, and procedures.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+

Experience with fiber optic laser technology is desirable.

Work Environment

The role operates in a manufacturing, fabrication, and welding tooling shop environment. The position is for the 2nd shift from 3:30 PM to 12:30 AM, Monday to Friday. The engineering team works from cubicles off of the large, clean, indoor machine shop. Clients are primarily in the aviation and aerospace sectors, focusing on tooling and fabrication of parts. The company promotes a small, family-oriented environment with a team-first mindset.

This is a Permanent position based out of Palm Bay, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $72000.00/yr.
