Position Overview

The Panel Technician II is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment and control panels used in industrial, commercial, and renewable energy applications. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical drawings, components, and installation standards, as well as the ability to work independently and guide entry-level technicians.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install and modify electrical machinery, equipment, and circuitry for industrial and commercial applications

  • Prepare subpanels and enclosures for assembly of electrical components

  • Install and wire PLC components according to drawings and specifications

  • Interpret and fully understand electrical drawings for accurate installation

  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with applicable codes and standards

  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical components and systems

  • Maintain complete knowledge of electrical components used in panel assembly

  • Provide direction and guidance to Level I technicians on basic project tasks

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production goals

  • Complete work efficiently while meeting project deadlines and quality expectations

Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience installing electrical components

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings

  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment

  • Ability to work independently and assist less experienced technicians

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to take direction and collaborate within a team environment

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Frequent use of hands to handle tools, equipment, and controls

  • Ability to bend, twist, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and perform repetitive motions

  • Ability to walk or stand for long durations
