Position Summary

As a Field Service Representative at Oncor, you’re responsible for working service orders involving the disconnecting, reconnecting, setting, reading, and investigating of meters on residential, commercial, and industrial premises. These orders must be worked safely and in a prescribed timeframe, resulting in the proper delivery and measurement of electric energy.

This position will have an assigned service territory within our Oncor Electric Delivery Company market and be based out of our Palestine Service Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the type of meters to initiate service.
  • Maintain professionalism when meeting and engaging with residential and commercial customers.
  • Use proper test equipment to determine proper voltage and to guard against faulty or hazardous conditions.
  • Assure service order completion within a specified time frame over a diverse geographic area, while meeting Company safety rules/regulations and providing quality and courteous customer service.
  • Ensure the integrity of the Company's measurement devices and energy delivery through evaluation of a premise for diversion of energy, faulty inappropriate wiring, or incorrect recording of readings and the proper documentation of diversion.
  • Ability to drive for long periods of time as needed.
  • Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required.
  • Applicants with experience in meter reading or related electric measurement encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants with experience working with electric utility field service orders encouraged to apply.
Measure Of Success
  • Demonstrates knowledge of metering applications to include proper voltages and dangers associated with those applications.
  • Ability to recognize sub-standard metering installations and take appropriate action.
  • Interaction with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues in accordance with Company policies and standards.
  • Demonstrates contribution to workgroup and Company goals.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform work with minimum supervision while maintaining a continuing mentoring relationship.
  • Follows Measurement Services safety procedures to ensure the safety of employees and the public.
