POSITION SUMMARY:
The Batch Operator is responsible for operating the liquid batching equipment and produces batches according to the production schedule. The Batch Operator must ensure all quality, physical safety and food safety standards are adhered to and must follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) while performing their duties. This position is also responsible for the cleaning/sanitation of their work area. Batching operators also have the responsibility to monitor and maintain reporting for the Critical Contact Point's and daily Quality (QA) documentation of the process.
This position reports to the Quality Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform manual tasks to make batches for production.
• Manually handle, weigh, and add ingredients based on batch specification.
• Properly complete official documents required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
• Perform all required inventory transactions for material usage, tracking and process tracking,
• Assist with ingredient cycle counts as required and full system inventories.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work areas and perform other housekeeping/sanitation tasks as assigned.
• Perform required preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1+ years of experience in equipment operations, preferably at a food and beverage manufacturing plant; must have experience driving a forklift.
• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible with scheduled work hours, punctual with good attendance, and self-driven.
• Principles of food hygiene and food safety as defined and described on 21 CFR
- Part 117, including the importance of employee health and personal hygiene, as appropriate to the assigned duties.
• Good documentation practices and must be able to accurately fill out QA forms or logs.
• Beginner proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Able to stand or sit for prolonged hours, lift 50 lbs., climb stairs, and work in a hot, humid, noisy, and dusty manufacturing environment.
• Must reside in Palestine, TX, or surrounding areas.
