The Physical Therapy Assistant carries through a treatment program as outlined by the licensed Physical Therapist after the initial evaluation. The PTA assists with implementation of programs in the Physical Therapy Department in areas of patient and family education, home programs, in‑services for other departments, back school, community education, employee fitness and post‑offer physical exams for the hospital. The LPTA supervises support staff and students as assigned in areas related to patient care.

The LPTA participates in continuing education courses, state and national meetings, Health Fairs, etc., as appropriate and available.

Must be licensed as a PTA in the state of Texas, or meet Texas licensure requirements and obtain license within 90 days of employment. Previous experience preferred. BLS required.
