This Position is a Part-Time Instructional Position.
Position Summary
St. Johns River State College is accepting applications for a Criminal Justice Instructor to teach courses within the Basic Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Advanced and Specialized training programs. This position requires expertise in law enforcement and corrections training, with a focus on preparing students for success in Florida's criminal justice system. Applicant must be willing to establish Florida residency. This position is not eligible for Veterans' Preference.

Duties and Responsibilities
INSTRUCTION AND CURRICULUM
- Provide engaging, hands-on instruction to prepare students for certification and field readiness.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, grades, and training documentation.
- Develop, update, and maintain course materials and lesson plans.
- Teach Basic Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Advanced/Specialized courses in accordance with Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission guidelines.
- Remain current in law enforcement, corrections, and instructional practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training updates, and certification renewals as required.
- Support college-wide initiatives and program development.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean or academic leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Certification as an instructor by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission.
• Current or previous state law enforcement certification and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience teaching in a law enforcement or corrections training program.
