Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. • Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to meet their needs.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
• Properly use kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and seasonal ads.
• Maintain knowledge of department products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
• Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, and keep logs.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued.
• Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Report customer or employee accidents to management.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
