CAREER ADVISORS

The Northwest Educational Council for Student Success (NECSS) is a partnership with Township High School District 211, District 214, District 220, and Harper College focused on supporting student success through innovative programming and collaboration.

  • The positions will run from February through May
  • Does not exceed 29 hours a week
  • The rate of pay is $27.00 per hour
  • Grant-funded position

Description:

The Career Advisor supports District 211's college, career, and life readiness goals by coordinating work-based learning and career exploration experiences, providing individualized career advising, supporting district-wide programming, and building partnerships with business, industry, and postsecondary institutions to ensure equitable student access aligned with District 211 pathways.

  • Coordinate career treks/site visits, career panels, job fairs, and postsecondary program visits
  • Build and maintain business/industry/postsecondary partnerships
  • Manage logistics (transportation, permissions, rosters, communication) and supervise students during experiences
  • Provide student career advising (resumes, interviews, job search) and support use of Maia Learning
  • Track participation/outcome data aligned to grant requirements and support communications/resources

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience with work-based learning, partnerships, student advising or career readiness preferred
  • Strong organization, communication, and technology skills
