Shift PatternThe shift pattern for this post is 37 hours per week, consisting of days, nights and weekends. Please be advised that, effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic band 5 Registered Nurse to join our passionate and dedicated surgical nursing team. This will be based in ward 24, a 30‑bedded ward within the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Responsibilities- Assess, deliver and supervise all care needs within the ward environment.
- Use sound clinical skills to assess patients’ needs, implement and evaluate evidence‑based care.
- Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment to a high clinical standard.
- Be forward‑thinking, flexible and able to work within a changing and dynamic environment.
- Expand your skills and knowledge across a diverse range of surgical patients.
- Guide and support new qualified nurses or those new to the ward/department, facilitating learning and education development.
- Develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality care to patients.
- Work on your own initiative, as well as within an integrated team.
- Adhere to a flexible shift pattern of both day and night rotations and weekend working.
- Currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC.
- Live NMC UK pin required.
- Excellent communication skills and decision‑making ability.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
