Title: Assistant Caretaker / Janitor

Location: St Andrew's Academy, Barrhead Rd, Paisley PA2 7LG

Schedule: 40 hours per week (Shift pattern Monday-Friday 08:00AM – 17:00PM)

Hourly Rate: £14.20 per hour

We are offering this role to support the Renfrew Schools Private Finance Initiative across nine schools. Every day our team creates high‑quality learning environments that are safe, clean and compliant, supporting teachers and students with meaningful educational experiences.

• Ensure smooth running of the school premises
• Carry out day‑to‑day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
• Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
• Daily check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
• Guard against vandalism
• Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear away afterward
• Collect litter and clear external areas

• Knowledge and prior experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
• Good team player
• Flexible with shift work
• Strong ability to develop relationships with on‑site client and staff
• Support local and business zero‑carbon programmes, working towards zero‑carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate
• Responsibility for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
