Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

Shist pattern - Monday - Friday 9-5

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated nurse to join the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team within NHSGGC Urology department, serving the North and Clyde sectors. This Band 6 post forms an integral part of the wider Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team and involves working across multiple sites, including Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Stobhill Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Inverclyde Royal Hospital and the Vale of Leven Hospital.

The post holder will work within a Band 7 CNS team and be responsible for administering specialised intravesical therapies for patients diagnosed with bladder cancer and benign urological conditions, providing comprehensive support throughout the entire treatment pathway and assisting with diagnostic procedures and bladder dysfunction follow up clinics.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to uphold high standards of clinical practice, patient safety and evidence-based care, and guide individuals through complex cancer treatment pathways while supporting them at every stage.

To provide locally based services the post is primarily based within the Clyde sector, with potential travel to other sites. The post holder will conduct weekly nurse-led return clinics at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, the Vale of Leven Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital. The role includes managing a defined caseload, prioritising and organising workload to ensure timely delivery of high quality services, plus leadership, education, research and service development underpinned by clinical governance.
