Job Opportunity
There is an opportunity to join our Compliance Team within the Housing Investment team of Environment, Housing and Infrastructure of Renfrewshire Council.
Responsibilities- Assist the Statutory Compliance Co‑ordinator Asbestos Safety (Housing) on the strategic management of statutory compliance and regulatory undertakings related to HRA assets, including the inspection and service regimes related to Asbestos Safety, to ensure full compliance and reduce residual risk to tenants, employees and third parties.
- Support the procurement and delivery of statutory compliance contracts, internal and external QC/QA arrangements, and monitoring and reporting on performance.
- Assist in the development and delivery of the strategic approach to effectively managing Landlord Compliance statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings that reduce risk to customers, employees and third parties.
- P402 Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos, P403 – Air Sampling and Fibre Counting (PCM), and P404 – Clearance Testing and the Requirements for a Certificate for Reoccupation or equivalent.
- Experience of Statutory Health and Safety Compliance within the Social Housing Sector and experience in Asbestos Safety.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety issues within a compliance, maintenance or construction field, current legislation relating to Asbestos Safety, and ability to work on your own initiative and attend out of hours meetings.
- Effective communication, ICT, presentation, organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings and HNC or equivalent in construction or maintenance related discipline, or Property/Building related specialism, or Health and Safety qualification.
- Full current driving licence.
