£26,000 – £29,370 (reduced pro-rata) per annum depending on experience

York Minster is one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals – an active place of worship, visitor attraction, accredited museum, library and archive, as well as a Centre of Excellence for Heritage crafts. In 2027, we will mark the 1400 th anniversary of the building of the first Minster, for the baptism of a king, marking a moment of exceptional historic significance.

Since 627, the Minster has been at the centre of Christianity in the north of England and today remains a thriving church rooted in the daily offering of worship and prayer.

To deliver this once-in-a-generation programme, we are seeking an experienced and audience-focussed Events Manager to join our team. The Events Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of a major programme of events and activities marking the Minster’s 1400 th anniversary. This ambitious programme will include services, large-scale art installations, cultural events, educational activities, community engagement, and VIP events. Working closely with colleagues across the Minster, external partners, and stakeholders across the city and beyond, you will ensure that all events are delivered to the highest standard and reflect the Minster’s mission, vision, and values.
