Offsite Community Center Aide - TemporaryA senior citizen aide helps adults with daily tasks, health needs, and personal care. This includes bathing, dressing, meal prep, medication reminders, and mobility assistance. The aide also provides crucial companionship, running errands, managing light housekeeping, and communicating with families/doctors to ensure safety and well-being in a home or facility setting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Personal Care: Assisting with grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
- Health & Medication: Providing medication reminders, monitoring symptoms, and reporting changes to healthcare providers.
- Companionship: Engaging in conversation, hobbies, and activities to support mental and emotional health.
- Household Tasks: Performing light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
- Mobility Support: Helping with walking, transferring, and using assistive devices.
- Transportation & Errands: Driving clients to appointments, shopping, and other outings.
- Documentation: Keeping accurate records of care, activities, and any changes in the client's condition.
- Activity Planning:
Arrange stimulation programs based on individual interests and abilities. (light exercise, arts and crafts, reading, or social outings) - Time Management:
Adhering to scheduled time periods with clients - Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Certifications:
- 1 st Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- Food Handler’s Certificate
- Fire Extinguisher Training
- Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to exhibit excellent customer service skills.
- Skill in personal computers, including word processing, database, spreadsheets, copy machine and fax machine.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to communicate well with and perform duties cooperatively with a wide variety of personalities.
- Skills and knowledge in organization, time management, customer service, event planning, and networking.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to follow standard office environment safety requirements.
- Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding departmental documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Ability to have command of business English, spelling and mathematics.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The following physical abilities are required: feeling, fingering, handling, hearing, sitting, speaking, standing, walking and visual acuity.
