Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to keep operations running safely and efficiently. This role supports preventive maintenance efforts, responds to breakdowns, and works closely with operations to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on industrial equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and restore production quickly and safely
  • Complete preventive and predictive maintenance tasks per PM schedules
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
  • Install, align, and test motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and related equipment
  • Perform basic PLC troubleshooting (inputs/outputs, sensors, fault codes)
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), safety, and plant procedures
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, shutdowns, and new installations
  • Communicate issues and recommendations to supervisors and operators
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with motors, drives, bearings, belts, chains, and gear reducers
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical degree or trade school certification
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • CMMS experience
  • OSHA or safety training
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing/industrial setting
  • Exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery
  • PPE required
