Position Profile

Location: Confidential – U.S. Midwest Region
Position Title: Production Supervisor – 1st/2nd Shift Rotating

The Opportunity

This is a high‑impact leadership role within a high‑volume, 24/5 production environment that has historically been known for stability and strong team culture. Recent turnover has created an urgent need for a strong production leader who can reinforce operational discipline, elevate team engagement, and stabilize performance on rotating 1st and 2nd shifts.

The individual stepping into this role will directly influence safety performance, quality, uptime, and overall reliability. Because this facility operates with a principle-based, growth-minded culture—not a command‑and‑control environment—you will have the ability to drive meaningful change, introduce process improvements, and develop a highly capable crew. The right supervisor will make visible contributions within the first 90–180 days through stronger communication, operational alignment, and measurable improvements in efficiency and waste reduction.

Long-term, the opportunities for advancement are substantial due to a large operational footprint and a strong commitment to fostering individual capability.

The Company

The organization operates a large, multi-site manufacturing network with high-volume production capabilities and a strong reputation for innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. With more than 150 facilities across its extended enterprise, the company maintains a culture rooted in principle-based leadership, employee empowerment, and long-term career development. Employees are encouraged to challenge the status quo, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities that match their own goals and aspirations.

Benefits programs are designed to support physical, financial, and emotional well-being, with a focus on enabling employees to perform at their best. The broader organization values diversity of thought, experience, and background, and supports a range of specialized manufacturing, recycling, and industrial operations across the U.S.

The Boss

All shift supervisors report to the Corrugator Superintendent, who is described as supportive, communicative, and aligned with principle-based leadership values. During the interview and selection process, candidates also meet with the Director of Operations. Leadership’s approach is tailored to each person—focused on understanding what excites them, where they want to grow, and how best to support their long-term development. The environment rewards initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to grow, rather than rigid rule-focused management.

The

Position

This role is specifically responsible for supervising production operations on a weekly rotating 1st and 2nd shift schedule (7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. one week, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. the next). The supervisor leads hourly union operators in a fast-paced environment that requires strong communication, hands-on leadership, and the ability to coach rather than dictate. A “my way or the highway” style is not compatible with this culture.

While corrugated experience is not required, experience in manufacturing or industrial settings is essential, and the company is willing to train individuals who demonstrate leadership capability, a strong work ethic, and alignment to principle-based management.

Essential Functions
  • Lead, coach, and develop the production team to achieve safety, quality, and output goals.
  • Build a culture of accountability and ownership rooted in principle-based leadership.
  • Drive process improvements aimed at increasing uptime, reducing waste, and improving reliability.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, shipping, and quality teams to ensure aligned operations across shifts.
  • Empower employees to proactively address safety issues and conduct root-cause investigations where needed.
  • Track, communicate, and improve production performance through digital and data-driven tools.
  • Manage and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Support training, skill development, and team capability growth.
