Phlebotomist – Lourdes Hospital

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Complete clerical duties in a timely manner to maintain department efficiency, including order entry, result look-up, report generation, and answering internal/external calls in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and verify the patient’s identity with the correct service to ensure patient safety.
• Perform data entry and processing of specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as requested by test orders.
• Perform departmental clerical duties such as inventory checks, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education: High School Degree or GED
• Licensure/Certification: Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required
• Experience: One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required; customer service in a retail or service environment preferred
• Skills & Abilities: Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment; engage with staff and patients professionally; ability to travel to off-site locations as needed
