Phlebotomist – Lourdes Hospital
Responsibilities- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
- Complete clerical duties in a timely manner to maintain department efficiency, including order entry, result look-up, report generation, and answering internal/external calls in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
- Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper processing.
- Identify patients accurately and verify the patient’s identity with the correct service to ensure patient safety.
- Perform data entry and processing of specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as requested by test orders.
- Perform departmental clerical duties such as inventory checks, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: High School Degree or GED
- Licensure/Certification: Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required
- Experience: One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required; customer service in a retail or service environment preferred
- Skills & Abilities: Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment; engage with staff and patients professionally; ability to travel to off-site locations as needed
