Position Overview
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operational performance of the healthcare organization. This leader will partner closely with clinical, financial, and administrative teams to ensure efficient operations, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and scalable growth. The ideal candidate brings strong healthcare operations experience, a data-driven mindset, and a collaborative leadership style.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage operational functions across clinical and non-clinical departments to ensure efficient, compliant, and patient-centered care delivery
Partner with clinical leadership to improve workflows, staffing models, and patient throughput while maintaining quality and safety standards
Develop, implement, and monitor operational KPIs related to access, utilization, productivity, patient experience, and financial performance
Oversee staffing, scheduling, and capacity planning to align resources with patient demand
Drive process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and payer requirements (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, Joint Commission)
Collaborate with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cost-containment initiatives
Support growth initiatives, including new service lines, locations, acquisitions, or integrations
Lead, mentor, and develop operations managers and cross-functional teams
Act as a key liaison between executive leadership, clinical teams, and external partners
Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred7–10+ years of progressive healthcare operations experience
, with leadership responsibilityStrong understanding of healthcare delivery models, clinical workflows, and regulatory requirements
Proven experience managing multi-site or complex healthcare operations preferred
Demonstrated success driving operational improvements and managing change
Strong analytical skills with experience using operational and financial data to guide decisions
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Experience in provider-based organizations, physician practice management, hospitals, or PE-backed healthcare platforms
Familiarity with EHR systems, revenue cycle processes, and payer contracting
Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement certification
High-impact leadership role with visibility to executive leadership
