Responsibilities include performing advanced orthopedic procedures such as hip nailing, fracture management, joint replacements, and spinal surgeries. The role involves 24-hour emergency call coverage, with a focus on adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient care. Candidates will utilize the EPIC EMR system and handle diverse trauma cases, including dislocations, amputations, and treating bone and joint tumors. Flexibility to cover open dates with ongoing requirements is essential.

Required Skills:

• Board Certification or Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
• Proven experience in hip nailing procedures and trauma cases
• Ability to handle orthopedic surgical procedures including joint replacements and spinal surgeries
• Strong proficiency in EPIC EMR system
• Excellent clinical judgment and patient management skills
• Ability to work a 24-hour call shift reliably and professionally

Nice to Have

Skills:

• Experience in pediatric and geriatric orthopedic care
• Prior work in hospital-based surgical teams
• Familiarity with advanced trauma and complex orthopedic cases
• Additional certifications in trauma or spinal surgery

Preferred

Education and Experience:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Surgery preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in orthopedic surgical practice, including trauma and joint replacements

Other Requirements:

• Active medical license in Kentucky or ability to obtain one
• Ability to provide 2-4 hours of call back during 24-hour shifts
• Willingness to travel, with lodging and travel reimbursements provided
• Availability to work on scheduled open dates, including potential ongoing needs
