Mid-Level Accountant - SAIPA Registered

Our client is a well-established accounting firm based in Paarl seeking a meticulous and technically skilled Mid-Level Accountant - SAIPA Registered to join their team.

This role is dedicated to the compilation of annual financial statements for a range of clients and entities.

The ideal candidate will have completed SAIPA articles and possess a thorough understanding of accounting standards, particularly IFRS for SMEs.

This is a technically focused role with an emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and reporting quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS for SMEs
• Ensure all financial statements meet regulatory and statutory compliance requirements
• Compile and maintain supporting working paper files
• Review trial balances and process necessary adjustments
• Liaise with clients to gather supporting documentation and resolve queries
• Ensure compliance with SARS requirements
• Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and reporting frameworks
• Meet all financial statement submission deadlines

• Completed SAIPA articles at a SAIPA-accredited training firm
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
• 2-3 years of experience in compiling financial statements
• Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, the Companies Act, and South African tax legislation
• Proficiency in Draftworx and Xero (or similar accounting/reporting software)
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Registered Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
• Experience working with multiple entities or clients
