Specialty‑LPN (Non‑Exempt) (34003N)

Mercy – Gastroenterology (Full‑time, Monday–Friday).

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of persons licensed by a State regulatory board or a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.

The Primary Care Nurse completes triage and identifies abnormal patient symptoms and laboratory findings, notifying the physician or providing treatment according to standard Primary Care protocols. Assists with EPIC in‑basket management, including, but not limited to, incoming and outgoing telephonic or My Mercy messages, test results, medication refill requests, etc. Inputs orders as needed to aid provider and clinical care team.

• Education:
  Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Licensure:
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
  • Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Experience: 2–3 years preferred
• Certifications: (may be required based on position/unit or required timeframe)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Six Assessment & Care Modules)
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • IV Certification within 1 year of hire
  • Other unit‑specific certifications as required.
