Welfare & Administration Manager (Fixed Term Residential Summer Contract)
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can engage and inspire young students and enrich their summer experience while ensuring safety and well‑being.

Job DescriptionYour role will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Prioritize the safety of students above all else, implementing our safeguarding and health and safety policies working closely with the Camp Manager;
- Act as designated safeguarding staff for the centre, caring for sick students and arranging appropriate medical responses;
- Manage student presence‑check registers and liaise with internal and external stakeholders concerning student welfare;
- Communicate transfer plans with students and group leaders to ensure a stress‑free departure;
- Lead staff training and induction, create and distribute the Welfare Officer rota, and line‑manage the welfare team;
- Maintain administrative procedures (check‑in, pocket money, accommodation allocation), ensuring smooth camp operations in partnership with the Camp Manager;
- Manage student behaviour, enforce residence rules, supervise bedtime and wake‑up times, and assist with check‑in / check‑out procedures;
- Cover for the Camp Manager on days off and take a leading role in daily meetings to improve camp processes;
- Support the Activity Programme by assisting the Activity Manager and Leaders whenever required.
- High degree of IT competency (Outlook & MS Office, especially Excel);
- Proven experience in a pastoral, welfare, safeguarding, or residential management role with children or young people;
- Experience in a summer camp, boarding school, or youth programme setting;
- Ability to manage safeguarding cases, welfare incidents, and behavioural issues professionally and sensitively;
- Experience leading and supporting a welfare staff team;
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety procedures;
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children, staff, and parents;
- Competence in managing confidential information and accurate record‑keeping;
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritise under pressure;
- Knowledge of emergency and incident management in a residential environment;
- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in education, youth work, social care, psychology, or pastoral support.
- Experience in an international or EFL summer camp;
- Qualification or training in mental health first aid, counselling, or well‑being management;
- Experience in staff training or delivering safeguarding briefings;
- Knowledge of another language;
- Experience using administrative or welfare reporting systems;
- Full driving licence (for transport or hospital visits);
- Experience organising well‑being initiatives or inclusion‑focused activities.

- Residential position with accommodation provided on site.
- Staff are required to provide an enhanced DBS check, three referee details, and overseas conduct certificates where applicable.
