This position is located in National Capital Parks-East, in the Maintenance Program. Nine vacancies are beingfilled through this announcement.
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for National Capital Parks-East is April-October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty:
End of April
Performing simple and routine maintenance of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, trails, equipment, and related facilities.
Performing basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
Safely operating groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, pole saws, and hand tools.
Picking up trash and refuse, clearing dumping sites as needed, and climbing in and out of trash trucks to empty trash cans.
