Job Objective

The Business Capture Manager is responsible for identifying, qualifying, developing, and pursuing new opportunities and maintaining existing business relationships to secure and increase business sources that support meeting company growth and revenue targets. This position will support the Executive Vice President and contribute to the GOH Management Team by guiding the growth strategy and implementation to improve operational efficiency, increase profit margin, and orient staff capacity to capitalize on future contract opportunities.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the capture planning and proposal process, facilitate Business Development meetings, and partner with leadership to develop individual approaches
  • Develop and maintain company pipeline database and One Drive document library
  • Monitor procurement portals and government agency forecasts
  • Research and analyze new opportunities identified through government databases
  • Maintain and update business pipeline profiles and information in internal database
  • Conduct gate reviews, qualify opportunities, and categorize bid stage (such as intelligence for bid/no bid stage)
  • Develop proposal opportunities through pre-RFP tasks associated with intelligence for pursuit, and develop client solutions to increase probability of win (Pwin)
  • Coordinate, manage, write, and submit capability statements and proposals
  • Establish and build upon existing and potential client partnerships
  • Attend and/or present at marketing and outreach events, and follow-up on networking leads
  • Review Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements, and Subcontracts

Supervisory responsibilities

Responsible for supervising all Business Capture team members, consultants, and partners. This position also indirectly supervises proposal team members by way of directing their workflow and participation in RFP and RFI responses. This position is expected to provide effective feedback and inform direct managers of development opportunities as part of the performance evaluation process.

Work environment: The work environment is a typical office setting or virtual/remote setting.

Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing.

Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 40-50 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime is expected during peak periods.

Travel: 20% local and regional travel, with overnight stays necessary

Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred education and experience: Master’s degree preferred

Additional eligibility qualifications: At least 10 years of Business Development experience with a minimum of 5 years in a manager role and federal contract client facing experience. Must have experience in government contracting, including service delivery, FAR, and relevant technical and contractual areas.
