Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for loading and unloading various streams of waste for shipment to waste vendors into long‑haul trucks, flatbeds, and roll‑off containers.
- Responsible for tracking movement of USAP shipping containers from staging yard.
- Assists with auction duties if applicable.
- Performs operation of warehouse forklift, power tools, hand tools, and company vehicles.
- Performs truck weigh station duties as applicable.
- Performs light administrative tasks such as timecards and expense reports.
- Position requires constant physical activity, including bending, consistently lifting and carrying 50–70 lbs, reaching, and gripping.
- Agrees with and adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures and tasking responsibilities of the Waste department.
- Able to work in a team unit composed of diverse personalities.
- Displays self‑motivation in physically challenging and atypical work environment; position is comprised of approximately 90% outdoor tasking.
- Able to maintain flexibility and positive attitude in a dynamic, fast‑paced work setting.
- Performs duties in support of Operations Division metrics (as provided by supervisor).
- Supports the achievement of ASC metrics, whether directly or indirectly, affected by this position's work activities.
- Complies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance requirements and goals, and provides necessary documentation.
- Works to achieve ASC goals and contractual commitments.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority.
Reports to Solid Waste Manager.
Requirements- Previous Antarctic deployment.
- Equipment operating experience.
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery.
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours daily.
- Must be able to lift the safety regulation maximum and perform functions requiring repetitive motion.
- Able to deploy to Port Hueneme, CA for the length of contract.
- A prerequisite of employment is to successfully gain a favorable Tier 1 – Elevated Background Investigation (EBI) result prior to deployment. Candidates hired for this position will be required to complete online forms, written forms, fingerprint cards, and provide additional details and information as requested by NSF Personnel Security.
- Previous USAP Waste Management experience.
High school education or GED.
Certifications and/or Licensing RequirementsValid Driver's License and ability to obtain military base access.
OtherUS citizenship or permanent residency required.
