ResponsibilitiesOverview:
Bertrandt US is seeking focused and detail-oriented Test Drivers to support the testing and development of pre-production and prototype vehicles. This hands-on role involves performing detailed vehicle evaluations, identifying system issues, and completing high-quality documentation to support the engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate pre-release vehicles on assigned routes or designated test areas, following all testing protocols, including routes with elevated terrain if required.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle system testing, including infotainment, tire pressure monitoring, seatbelts, battery, oil, and comfort systems.
- Utilize tablets, smartphones, and laptops for detailed documentation, including taking and uploading relevant photos.
- Write clear, concise, and professional reports describing technical issues accurately.
- Maintain safe driving practices while monitoring vehicle performance, multitasking effectively.
- Operate a vehicle lift (training provided) and assist with vehicle preparation and support tasks.
- Perform additional duties such as vehicle shuttling, detailing, or shop support as needed.
- Follow all safety, operational, and documentation procedures required by Bertrandt and the client.
- Handle confidential vehicle information and test results with integrity and ethics.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and mentor new drivers when requested.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 4 years licensed driving experience.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with no more than two violations in the past three years.
- Proficiency in driving automatic transmission vehicles; manual transmission experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with new vehicle features and functions.
- Strong computer and mobile technology skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe, smartphones).
- Excellent written communication skills for documenting vehicle issues.
- High attention to detail and safe driving practices while evaluating vehicle performance.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
