The Design Consultant is the entry point into design and is responsible for engaging customers on the sales floor to support their design projects, conduct design appointments with customers to determine design needs in the selection of tile, wood, stone, and accessory products of various colors, textures, patterns, and design. The Design Consultant will also partner with store leaders to maximize sales goals and expand the design services brand.

$17.25 - $21.00

• 1+ years of retail/customer service experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have a minimum of 6 months with Floor & Decor

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up, including consistent and concise communication to customers and others
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals
• Enthusiastically support all company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
• Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce, the Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and My Project
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Limited travel may be required by car
• Occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles; noise level typically moderate to loud

Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
