Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk will coordinate the receiving and shipping of all incoming and outgoing product, materials, or supplies, and is responsible for the accuracy of shipping documents and verifying receiving receipts with open orders. Will escalater to the Shipping Manager or Plant Manager when major discrepancies occur.

The ideal candidate will ensure quality, on-time delivery, and cost management to be successful in this role. They must effectively communicate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth transactions.

• Responsible for logging orders, routing, shipping, and tracking of inbound/outbound orders and materials
• Check orders put in shipping box against report and print those that are missing
• Check system when orders are processed to print allocation of product and give to shipping manager.
• Write special instructions on orders and make sure all markings or labels are written down.
• Dispatch trucks.
• Change product locations for inter-company transfers.
• Complete all paperwork for shipped orders and ship out in the system.
• Prepares and verifies shipping documents such as Bill of Lading, customs, packing lists ensuring accuracy and receipt to appropriate departments
• Coordinate product and paperwork coming to and from each division.
• Provide support to traffic function as needed
• Distribute work to forklift drivers when necessary.
• Follow all company safety, hygiene and work rules.
• Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance to include timeliness
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus one (1) years of customer service, manufacturing, or previous shipping experience
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written, is required
• Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime and weekends is required.
• Individual should be self-motivated attention to detail
• Skilled in the use of MS Word/Excel at an intermediate level
• Data entry
• Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines while working on numerous ongoing projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written,with the ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge and/or understanding of the following programs and regulations pertaining to a food processing plant:
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Food Safety
  • HACCP

The pay for this role in the state of CA is $21.00/hr -$23.00 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
