Forklift Maintenance Technician 2 (49895)
Company: Haas Automation, Inc.
Summary: The Forklift Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for inspection, repair, and maintenance of forklifts, ASRS, bots, carts, tugs and other wheeled equipment. The role performs preventative maintenance and major repairs while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Salary Range: $27.00 - $41.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Equipment Inspection:
Thorough inspections of forklifts, ASRS, and vehicles to identify mechanical or electrical issues; assess brakes, tires, hydraulics, engines, safety systems. - Maintenance and Repair:
Scheduled tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication; troubleshoot wiring, hydraulic leaks, transmission problems. - Preventative Maintenance:
Follow maintenance schedules, adhere to manufacturer guidelines. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities in SAP. - Safety Compliance:
Ensure equipment meets safety standards; inspect safety features like lights, horns, alarms. - Training and Support:
Provide operator training and guidance on equipment use and basic maintenance. - Emergency Repairs:
Respond to breakdowns and restore functionality quickly. - Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate on process improvements and cost reductions. - Regulatory Compliance:
Stay updated on regulations and manufacturer recommendations. - Diagnosis:
Diagnose charging and control problems on modern Lithium Ion vehicles and smart chargers. - Parts and Inventory Management:
Monitor spare part inventory, order supplies to minimize downtime. - Integrity and Procedure Adherence:
Follow instructions, procedures, and uphold honesty and integrity.
- Active Haas Forklift certification.
- Five years of forklift maintenance experience.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school plus related experience.
- Five to ten years of experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English; capable of presenting information in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages, graph interpretation.
- Reasoning ability to solve problems with concrete variables and apply common sense.
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, kneeling, crawling – frequently or occasionally.
- Repetitive hand use, simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling – performed frequently.
- Visual requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting: 0‑10 lbs. frequently; 11‑25 lbs. frequently; 26‑50 lbs. frequently; 51‑60 lbs. never; 61+ lbs. never.
Moderate noise level with occasional loud moments; general office or engineering lab and production floor environments. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, hazardous chemicals, fumes or airborne particles occasionally.
