Overview
This position is located within Ventura County Health Care Agency Ambulatory Care department, a system of primary and specialty care medical clinics throughout Ventura County. Under the general direction of the Administrative Services Director, the Clinic Financial Analyst will extract, manipulate, and analyze financial and operational data to prepare fiscal and budget reports, develop KPIs, and perform detailed service line analysis.
Responsibilities- Execute data extractions from electronic health record databases (Cerner) to establish KPIs, service line analysis, pro forma, and other fiscal and budget reporting.
- Prepare required reports; compile and analyze financial information and statistical data to improve fiscal operations, identify program needs, and change service delivery methods.
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement financial operational improvements within the Ambulatory Care Clinics.
- Confere with managers on policy matters and work problems; interpret policies and procedures and explain their application within the financial context.
- Enhance financial operational systems and manage conformance in daily operation; design financial tools and implement methods to monitor financial performance improvement.
- Represent the County in contacts with other governmental or community agencies and cooperate on organizational, personnel, budget, and operational issues with regard to the Ambulatory Care department.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, health care, business administration, or related field and at least 3 years of recent experience in fiscal management with 2 years in a healthcare setting (Program Administrator I) or 4 years of recent experience with 2 years in a healthcare setting (Program Administrator II).
- Advanced skill level in Excel.
- Desired:
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, and/or similar products. - Working knowledge of program management, budgetary preparation and analysis, fiscal management, organization and staffing, administrative application of data processing, public relations, personnel administration, and Pro Forma financial statement development.
- Ability to analyze administrative and fiscal problems, prepare a variety of reports and recommendations, and speak effectively in public.
- Bilingual incentive depending on operational needs and certification of skill.
- Educational incentive of 2.5% for associate degree, 3.5% for bachelor’s degree, or 5% for graduate degree for educational attainments not specifically required by the position.
