Deputy Treasurer

The City Treasurer's Department seeks a Deputy City Treasurer to provide advanced financial, managerial, and operational analysis, lead projects, and maintain fiscal efficiency.

• Provide management, fiscal, and administrative support to the City Treasurer’s Office.
• Conduct comprehensive financial, managerial, and operational analysis and develop recommendations to improve processes, programs, and financial efficiency.
• Lead and participate in projects requiring advanced analytical skills and independent judgment, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
• Supervise paraprofessional and professional staff, conduct performance evaluations, coordinate training, and implement hiring, discipline, and termination procedures.
• Prepare financial reporting and analysis in accordance with GAAP, including monthly Government Code Section 41004 reports, and review and approve requisitions.
• Oversee daily operations or projects of the City Treasurer’s Department, serve as second level of approval for expenditures, and manage projects and prepare complex reports.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field.
• Three (3) years of journey-level professional experience in area of assignment.
