Overview
Para educator - General Education positions are typically 5.75 - 8 hours per day, 183 workdays per year. We are also testing for an eligibility list at this time, which will be used to fill vacancies for up to one year. Immediate need for substitute employees will be hired from this recruitment as well.

Some positions that involve public contact may require bilingual proficiency for which selective certification may apply (Education Code 45277).

Experience and TrainingAny combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education and Training: Consistent with the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015, No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and other related legislation, paraprofessionals working in a program supported with Title I funds must meet the following standards:

Experience: Some experience working with school-age children in an organized educational, health, child care, or other structured setting is highly desirable.
Special Requirements , License or Certificate- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver's license.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a CPR and first aid certificate.
- Some positions in this classification may require bilingual certification and/or a special assessment of the ability to communicate clearly in English and/or Spanish.
This is a Dual Certification recruitment:
Candidates who attain a passing score on each examination part will be placed in rank order on an eligibility list after promotional credits are added to the composite test scores of promotional candidates. These examinations are open to permanent employees and the public.
