About The ProgramThe Environmental Science and Resource Management (ESRM) Program at CSU Channel Islands is an interdisciplinary, field‑ and lab‑intensive program that integrates natural and social sciences to prepare students for leadership in environmental problem solving. ESRM emphasizes hands‑on learning, applied research, and community engagement across diverse ecosystems from coastal and marine environments to watersheds and urban systems. Faculty and students work collaboratively with regional partners to address pressing environmental challenges such as climate resilience, environmental justice, conservation, and sustainable resource use.
The program is known for its experiential approach, small class sizes, and commitment to fostering equity, scientific literacy, and civic engagement among its students.
