Job Description & How to Apply Below
Become part of a close‑knit culinary team that takes pride in delivering exceptional food experiences for students, staff, and guests.
Due to internal promotion and team expansion, we are seeking a passionate Chef de Partie to join a well‑established and highly regarded kitchen team. The operation delivers high‑quality, diverse cuisine for a wide range of occasions - from daily service to large‑scale banquets, conferences, and special events.
In this key role, you will be responsible for preparing and producing food to the highest standards across multiple kitchen sections. You'll have opportunities to lead specific areas, mentor junior chefs, and occasionally act as duty chef, ensuring excellence in food quality, hygiene, and safety at all times.
You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team based in a beautiful, historic setting with modern facilities and a strong culture of culinary excellence.
All staff are expected to work in a way that reduces environmental impact and uses resources responsibly, in line with organisational sustainability and procurement policies.
What We're Looking For
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 706 1/2, NVQ, or equivalent experience)
Strong experience across multiple kitchen sections, ideally within a busy, high‑volume environment
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
Confidence working independently as well as part of a team
A flexible, reliable approach and willingness to continue developing your skills
Strong cooking skills across larder, pastry, sauce, and vegetarian dishes
What We Offer
Annual skills allowance of £1,750 from January 2026 (subject to deductions and review)
38 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
Membership of a competitive pension scheme
Uniform provided
Generous training and development opportunities
Discounted bus pass scheme
Access to beautiful gardens, grounds, and affiliated sites
