Overview

The University of Oxford invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Assistant. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to advanced academic research within a world-leading research environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the project’s Principal Investigator and collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to undertake high-quality research activities and support ongoing projects within the department. Responsibilities

The postholder will conduct independent and collaborative research, design and implement experiments or analytical approaches relevant to the project, and contribute to the generation of high-impact research outputs including academic publications and conference presentations. Responsibilities include analysing and interpreting research data, maintaining accurate research records, preparing manuscripts and reports, and assisting with dissemination of research findings through academic channels. The role also involves contributing to the broader academic activities of the department, including mentoring junior researchers or students where appropriate and supporting the preparation of grant proposals and research documentation.

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative research environment and will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and institutional support for professional development.

Eligibility and Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

  • A PhD or DPhil in a relevant discipline, or candidates close to completion of their doctoral degree.
  • A strong academic background with demonstrated research experience related to the project area.
  • Evidence of the ability to undertake independent research and contribute to collaborative research initiatives.

Required expertise/skills

  • Strong analytical and research skills relevant to the project’s academic field.
  • Ability to design, implement, and analyse research studies or experiments.
  • Experience with academic writing and preparation of research publications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex research findings.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills to manage research tasks and meet project deadlines.
Salary

£36,024 to £44,263 per annum (Grade
7), with a possible discretionary range up to £48,350 depending on experience and qualifications.
