Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Haematology research team in working alongside the research nurses and practitioners in providing high standard of care, assist with and provide clinical interventions in line with the study protocols under the supervision or direction of qualified staff, data collection and data management for clinical trials and registries running in Haematology Trials Unit and will ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the clinical trial protocol and Good Clinical Practice.
This will include trials on the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) portfolio and commercially funded trials. To have an understanding that all research must be conducted according to ICH-GCP, the EU Directive on Good Clinical Practice and the Research Governance Guidelines and assist the team in upholding these. To follow agreed protocols and policies, seeking advice where appropriate from the research team and the trial coordinating centre.
Work alongside research nurses in the provision of a high standard of nursing care and develop working relationships with other multidisciplinary teams and areas of the Trust involved in clinical research activity. Demonstrate a professional approach to work and act as a professional and responsible team member. To have the capacity to work unsupervised, on own initiative and set own work priorities.
To respond to requests for help and information in a polite, positive and concise manner Assist with the day to day smooth running of the Haematology trials Unit. Develop and maintain effective communications to foster good working relationships with all key stakeholders, internal and external contacts. Deal sensitively and appropriately with all communications within the team, the trust, other trusts and external sponsors and CROs.

- Foundation Degree in Nursing Associate and NMC registration
- Willing to undertake self-development activities to improve clinical effectiveness.
- Able to identify own learning needs and ensure own professional development is maintained by keeping up to date with practice development., You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
