We are looking for a Senior Outsourced Services Lead to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract. As a senior outsourced services specialist at OUP, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality content through effective supplier management, resource planning, and process optimization. You will work closely with key stakeholders within Product Planning to plan and ensure the delivery of high-quality content creation services using the most cost-effective suppliers.

You will be responsible for decision making within the outsourcing process, ensuring the right balance between quality and cost efficiency. You will also collaborate with the Supplier Relationship Manager to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings. You will support a team of Outsourced Services Leads in their outsourcing activities and ensure all work is completed in line with OUP's policies and governance guidelines.

As an outsourced services subject matter expert with extensive experience, you will act as the in-house authority on OUP's purchasing systems and maintain oversight of the purchase order lifecycle for all spend within scope.

  • Experience of ERP systems such as SAP, including reporting and creation of purchase orders
  • Experience of contracts and engaging with 3rd party content creation suppliers
Desirable
  • Knowledge of publishing life cycle within all functions of Editorial, Design and Media from content development through to content production and delivery of final files.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel) and Adobe software
  • A background or interest in ELT
