Position: Team Manager - Food (Part Time

Team Manager - Food (Part Time) - Oxford Area

Marks and Spencer seeks a dedicated Team Manager in Food to lead a frontline team on the shop floor, ensuring exceptional availability, 5‑star service, and strong commercial results.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coach a team to deliver consistently under pressure, setting the pace and holding the line on standards.
  • Manage sales, standards, availability, and team performance, taking accountability when plans shift.
  • Collaborate across departments to create a seamless customer experience.
  • Drive commercial performance by interpreting key metrics and guiding the team to focus on outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
  • Drive profitability and sales through the Retail Plan and Store KPIs.
  • Embed business transformation initiatives and change programs.
  • Set clear service expectations and maintain high standards.
  • Create an inclusive culture and model digital tools and leadership behaviours.
  • Build a multi‑skilled team and fully utilise available tools.
  • Use data and insight to improve the in‑store experience and operational performance.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop talent to meet succession needs.
  • Review performance, manage underperformance, and celebrate successes.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
Technical Skills / Experience
  • Excellent customer service and KPI delivery leadership.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, visual, operational and people processes.
  • Proficiency in data and MI for commercial insights.
  • Knowledge of VM principles and digital systems.
  • Awareness of legal requirements and M&S people policies.
  • Effective communication, conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
