Maintenance Assistant
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour

Hours:

40 hours per week, worked flexibly across any 5 out of 7 days

Are you a hands-on, reliable individual who takes pride in maintaining safe and welcoming environments? Our client, a well-established educational institution, is looking for a dedicated Site Maintenance Assistant to join their friendly premises team.

• Carrying out day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and improvement works across the building and grounds (including basic plumbing, joinery, plastering, electrical, and decoration tasks).
• Supporting onsite projects, liaising with contractors, and ensuring high-quality work standards.
• Maintaining compliance with all Health and Safety procedures—including asbestos management and equipment checks.
• Assisting with caretaking and site duties, such as porterage, building security, and supporting evening or weekend events when required.
• Carrying out regular maintenance checks and keeping accurate records to ensure a safe working environment.
• Responding to occasional out-of-hours emergencies to support the continued security and functioning of the site.

• Committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for students and staff.
• Skilled in practical maintenance or caretaking work, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A strong team player with good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Reliable, punctual, and keen to develop their knowledge and skills through training (including opportunities like MIDAS certification).
