HR Centres of Excellence based within the Centre for Human Genetics, Roosevelt Drive, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7BN

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a new challenge specialising in employee relations? We have a great opportunity for an Employee Relations Partner to join our friendly and hard‑working HR Team, at the Nuffield Department of Medicine (NDM), University of Oxford.

The NDM HR Centres of Excellence provides comprehensive HR support to the Old Road Campus Units, Centres, Institutes, and international programmes (Africa and Asia Programmes – AAPs). By consolidating professional HR staff into specialised centres, we ensure close collaboration with managers to advance our strategic goals of enhancing service efficiency through streamlined, standardised processes.

As Employee Relations Partner you will be the first point of contact for Business Managers, frontline managers and employees for employment issues. Working closely with the Employee Relations Manager and other specialist HR team members, you will provide best practice HR advice and support on all aspects of employee relations including HR policies and processes, terms and conditions of employment, and the management of change.

This role is suitable for a highly motivated individual, with CIPD Level 5 and Associate membership. You'll bring demonstrable experience in HR with up‑to‑date practical knowledge of employment law, specifically in the ER arena. Strong influencing skills will be essential for this role alongside the ability to critically analyse complex situations and recommend effective ER solutions. A strong focus on customer service, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential for success in this role.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including a generous 38 days annual leave entitlement, an excellent contributory pension scheme, discounted travel, and development support, as well as family‑friendly policies.

At the University of Oxford, we are committed to equality and diversity, to make the University an inclusive, welcoming, and inspiring place to work and study, regardless of age, disability, race, religion, sex or sexual orientation.
