Position Summary

Infection Prevention and Control is at the top of the agenda at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role challenges and develops the many skills you already have while creating and identifying a new set of responsibilities across four hospital sites and a number of satellite services in Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and expertise to support the prevention, surveillance, and control of infection across OUHFT and deliver a 7‑day service.
  • Contribute to day‑to‑day maintenance and further development of a high quality, proactive, responsive, and accessible IPC service.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing specialist infection control policies and protocols, promoting evidence and research‑based practice.
  • Provide training and education to increase awareness of IPC issues amongst all disciplines and grades of staff within the Trust.
  • Support the Annual IPC work programme and create quality improvement projects across a wide range of settings to support best evidence practice.
Required Qualifications
  • Band 7 registered nurse or healthcare practitioner with IPC experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently across a large setting and to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing IPC policies, training staff and running quality improvement projects is highly desirable.
What We Offer
