Pharmacy Technician
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team. The successful applicant will help develop and manage medicines optimisation services to improve the quality and safety of care offered to our patients. It is expected that as part of this role you will enrol on a Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway. This is an 18 month programme designed to support you in meeting a range of competencies during your training in order to deliver safe and effective patient care.
Mainduties of the job
You will play an important role within The Manor Group,complimenting the work of our Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician aswell as the wider multi-disciplinary team.
You will help patients get the best from their medicines, use existingprotocols to maximise cost-effective preparations, improve repeat prescribingprocesses (including use of electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering),minimising clinical risk and reducing avoidable wasted medicines.
The role will include visiting our local care home settings with support from our Clinical Pharmacists, to undertake medicines reconciliation, medication reviews and there will be opportunities to shape the medicines ordering processes to reduce medicines wastage. You will work withthe Pharmacists to ensure our hospital discharge letters are reviewed in atimely manner and medicines reconciliation is performed accurately to ensuremedicine changes are made when patients are discharged back home into the community.
This is a patient facing role in Practice, with phone call and occasional faceto face interactions with patients to assess medicines use and communicate changes to medicines.
We are looking for someone who istrained as a Pharmacy Technician, with excellent communication skills and acommitment to working as part of a strong and effective clinical team.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a commitment to working as part of a strong and effective clinical team. This is an exciting role for someone looking to develop their clinical and management skills in primary care in a supportive team.
Person Specification Experience- The ability to use initiative and problem solving skills whilst also being aware of personal limitations
- Good numeracy skills e.g. the ability to calculate quantities/doses of medicines, understand and re-sync medicines and batch prescriptions, calculate averages/percentages for audit work
- Willingness to accept additional responsibilities
- Understanding of Information Governance principles
- Must have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to identify and record appropriate information
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council Evidence of continued professional development
- Practical experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel in order to create letter templates and input data into spreadsheets.
- Willingness to develop clinical skills and competency relevant to the role
- Completion of, or enrolment on, the Clinical Pharmacists/Pharmacy Technician in general practice education pathway
- Experience of dealing with the general public both face to face and over the phone
- BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
