This is an exciting opportunity to join Oxford University Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust as a Rotational Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist, where you will gain diverse experience across a wide range of specialist areas including:
Paediatric MSK, Long Covid, Rheumatology, Chronic Pain, Spinal, OxSPORT, DDH, CTEV, Complications of Excess Weight (CEW).
What makes this role special? This is not just a Band 6 role – it’s a structured rotational post designed to develop your clinical expertise, leadership skills, and confidence across specialist areas of paediatric physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job- Deliver an efficient and effective physiotherapy service by assessing, treating, and managing caseloads across specialist paediatric areas and the wider paediatric population.
- Perform specialist assessments for complex cases and autonomously develop and implement treatment plans.
- Enhance paediatric clinical skills through structured rotations in CTEV, DDH, MSK, OxSPORT, Rheumatology, Spinal, Chronic Pain, and Long Covid rehabilitation.
- Actively contribute to service development projects within specialist areas throughout the rotation.
- Support and assist in the supervision, teaching, and appraisal of Band 5 physiotherapists and students.
- Assist with operational management and the ongoing development of the Children’s Therapies team, supporting the team leader and undertaking delegated responsibilities.
- Lead and participate in evidence‑based projects, implementing changes and maintaining clinical standards in collaboration with senior team leaders.
- Ensure practice complies with legal and national frameworks relevant to paediatric care, such as The Children Act.
- Deputise for Physiotherapy Team Leaders in operational management tasks as required.
- Facilitate the integration of therapy services between the Children’s Hospital and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
- Must have NHS experience.
- Paediatrics experience.
