Lead the Financial Future of the University of Oxford’s Iconic Estate

Reporting into:
Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, (matrix reporting to the Director of Estates Services)

Location: Oxford

Permanent | Full-time | Hybrid

The University of Oxford is seeking a strategic and collaborative financial leader to join our Estates Services team. As Divisional Financial Controller (DFC), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial governance, management and planning of a large and diverse estate – supporting a world-class academic environment.

As Divisional Financial Controller, you will:

  • Lead the financial strategy, governance, and planning for Estates Services, establishing finance as a key, critical function across the division and its operations
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including the Director of Estates Services and University committees, which also acting as the key liaison between Estates Services and the central University Finance Division
  • Drive a culture of financial sustainability and risk management across a diverse portfolio of projects
  • Implement robust changes to fully integrate the finance function into the divisional hierarchy following completion of a divisional annual review
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and capital project accounting for an estate undertaking significant major capital projects, ongoing minor works, and continued maintenance works
  • Lead a stable, divisional finance resource comprised of three teams encompassing capital projects, management accounts, and transactions
