Oxford Pipework Services Ltd (OPS) are a privately owned Mechanical Building Services company founded in 1998, as a company we offer a wide range of services to Direct Clients, Consultants and Contractors in the development and installation of mechanical services. We specialise in the design, install and commissioning of commercial and industrial systems. As a company we are committed to offering first class services.

About the role

The Estimator, under the direction of the company Directors, is responsible for the delivery of a range of tenders consisting of all types of Mechanical Building Services, whether as a complete mechanical services package or on a sub-contractor basis.

Your role will include
  • Liaise with client/main contractor
  • Variation costing (alongside the project PM)
  • Prepare take off material quantities from specifications and drawings.
  • Carry out site visits and surveys as required to enable accurate tenders to be produced.
  • Produce and submit concise package enquires to the marketplace enabling their quotations to be received and analysed in a timely manner to suit the bid timeline programme.
  • Ensure the production of effective prime cost tenders in a timely manner to be submitted to the relevant Senior Manager for adjudication.
  • Upon the success of the bid, provide the effective handover of the estimate to the contracts team.
  • Liaise with clients and supply chain to develop/maintain successful relationships.
Experience and Skills Required
  • Have a proven track record as a Mechanical Services Estimator.
  • Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and be a team player.
  • Excellent analytic, numeric and literacy skills.
  • To have the ability to prepare cost plans and budgets.
  • Client facing with ability to attend Pre/Mid/Post tender meetings with client teams when required.
  • Ascertain the risks present on each individual project and record / manage through via the risk register.
  • Familiarity with estimating software (Trimble Contract Master) preferable although training will be provided.
