Mechanical Technician - Contract

We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Technician to support installation, assembly and commissioning activities within a high-technology engineering environment. This is a hands‑on contract role ideal for a practical Mechanical Technician with strong mechanical skills and a flexible approach to site work.

The Mechanical Technician will assist with mechanical assembly of equipment, on‑site installation, and commissioning support, working alongside experienced engineers and technicians. This role suits a Mechanical Technician who enjoys varied work and contributing to engineering projects from build through to completion.

• Mechanical assembly of components and systems
• Installation of mechanical equipment on site
• Assisting with commissioning and functional checks
• Inspection, handling and preparation of mechanical parts
• Working to engineering drawings, procedures and quality standards
• Supporting engineering teams during installation and commissioning phases

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician (apprenticeship or equivalent)
• Strong hands‑on mechanical ability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Clear verbal and written communication skills

• Experience working in an R&D, laboratory or scientific environment
• Background in high‑technology or research‑led engineering settings
• Understanding of safe working practices
