Building Services Manager - Mechanical bias

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Building Services Manager with a mechanical bias to join a well‑established Tier 2 main contractor delivering high‑quality commercial projects in Oxford. This role offers the ideal balance of office‑based work and hands‑on site involvement, allowing you to focus on validating tenders, value engineering, evaluating M&E subcontractors, and reviewing technical submittals, while spending around 30% of your time on‑site overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning.

• Review, prepare, and check technical submittals

• Validate tenders and support value engineering exercises

• Evaluate M&E subcontractors and manage supply chain compliance.
• Review on‑site technical submittals and oversee installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Produce reports and ensure commercial and technical risks are mitigated.

• Proven experience as a Building Services Manager on commercial projects.
• Strong mechanical engineering / building services background

• Excellent knowledge of M&E systems, subcontractor management, and tender evaluation.
• Ability to split time between office‑based management and site presence.
• Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
