Are you an experienced Fire Risk Assessor looking for a new opportunity? Oxford City Council is currently seeking diligent and qualified professional Fire Risk Assessors to join our Fire Safety team, operating within the Property and Assets Directorate. This is a crucial role that will involve conducting fire risk assessments, audits, inspections, and surveys across our corporate stock, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and minimising risk.
RoleWe are looking to recruit x3 Fire Risk Assessors to carry out type 1, 2, and 3 fire risk assessments on our buildings. The role will involve:
- Being primarily responsible for providing and delivering 100% compliance for Fire Risk Assessments across the Oxford City Council corporate portfolio.
- Working as part of a team of Fire Risk Assessors, utilising an excellent knowledge of the FRA process to view fire risk holistically and ensure that risk is identified and communicated accurately.
- Being responsible for ensuring suitable and accurate remedial works are identified and communicated in assessments, and that they align with the time frames recommended in the Oxford City Council FRA Process documents.
- Where required, being responsible for providing technical fire safety advice to colleagues across the organisation and being a point of contact for external organisations in relation to fire safety.
- Developing relationships and working closely with our contractors, customers and colleagues in collating and reporting information.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background with a clear understanding of the Regulatory reform Fire Safety Order (2005) and relevant fire safety legislation and guidance documents with some experience gained in housing. You must have excellent communication skills and have an ability to communicate fire risk and good fire safety practise to all relevant persons.
- Must hold Tier 2 accreditation via IFSM as a minimum (or be willing to obtain)
- Hold a valid nationally recognised fire safety qualification such as NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or similar.
- A recognised minimum grade 3 qualification within fire risk assessment such as the FPA, IFE or similar or registered by a competent body for FRA.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the fire safety industry.
- Experience of carrying out FRA's in social housing.
