This role offers the chance to step into a senior, hands‑on project engineering position with real responsibility. You’ll lead the delivery of complex, multi‑million‑pound projects, work across multiple manufacturing sites, and help raise the standard of how projects are executed across the business.
You’ll be at the centre of manufacturing delivery — turning plans into reality, solving real problems on the shop floor, and ensuring projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities- Lead capital projects end‑to‑end, from concept and justification through procurement, installation and delivery, strengthening manufacturing capability.
- Drive process and equipment development, supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement across manufacturing.
- Acts as a senior technical and delivery point of reference during project execution.
- Work closely with operations, quality and engineering teams to align requirements, manage priorities and deliver successful project outcomes.
- Partner with design teams to ensure products and processes are manufacturable, scalable and cost‑effective.
- Own supplier and contractor relationships, managing specifications, technical delivery, schedules and performance.
- Ensure successful project outcomes post‑delivery, monitoring performance of new equipment and processes and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Plan and control project delivery, building schedules, managing risks and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Contribute to improving project ways of working, applying strong knowledge of the project lifecycle to help raise delivery standards across the business.
- Degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or a related field, or extensive equivalent experience.
- Proven experience managing engineering projects, ideally in a manufacturing or technology environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the confidence to make decisions and drive issues to resolution.
- Proficiency in controlling projects using project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Atlassian Jira or Azure Dev Ops).
- Clear and collaborative communication skills, able to work with engineers, operators and stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with cloud‑based collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams).
- Exposure to agile project management working practices (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban etc.).
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Formal project management training or certification (PRINCE2, PMP or similar).
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or scaling manufacturing processes.
- Experience in regulated or high‑reliability manufacturing environments such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, automotive or electronics.
