Assistant Estimator

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well‑established and growing electrical contractor who is looking to add an Assistant Estimator to their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long‑term career within electrical estimating and progress within a supportive business.

As Assistant Estimator, you will work closely with senior estimators and the commercial team to support the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders across a range of electrical projects. This role would suit someone with some estimating experience or an electrical background looking to move into estimating.

• Assist in the preparation of electrical tenders and cost estimates
• Take off quantities from drawings and specifications
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Help maintain pricing databases and cost information
• Support bid submissions and tender documentation
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Assist with value engineering and cost planning

• Some experience in estimating or a background in electrical contracting
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (estimating software experience advantageous)
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
